First load free · then a % of each load · no contractWhat we handle for your double drop
- Find loads that truly need the low well, where a double drop beats a step deck
- Check that the load's footprint fits your well length
- Confirm total height on the trailer and flag routes with low clearances
- Flag state oversize permits and escorts before you accept
- Negotiate loading time, tarp pay and detention
Loads we look for
A double drop has a short deck over the kingpin, a low well in the middle and a short deck over the axles. The well lets tall freight stay under height limits. There's no federal height limit, and most states set it between 13'6" and 14'. The well is shorter than a full deck, so the load's length matters as much as its height.
- Tall industrial machinery
- Transformers and generators
- Tanks and vessels
- Construction equipment
- Permitted over-height loads
- Step deck freight on backhauls

Questions carriers ask
When does a load need a double drop instead of a step deck?
When it's too tall to stay under the route's height limit on a step deck, and it fits in the well. We check both before booking.
Do you handle over-height permits?
We flag permit and escort needs on every load. Permits are issued by each state and are usually arranged by the broker or a permit service.
What if my well is shorter than the load?
Then it's not a fit, and we keep looking. That's why we ask for your exact well length up front.
