Loads we look for
Power only means you pull someone else's trailer: a shipper's, a broker's or a leasing company's. It lowers your startup cost, but you need the right insurance, and some programs require a signed trailer interchange agreement before you can pick up.
- Preloaded dry van trailers
- Reefer trailers (with the right coverage)
- Drop-and-hook freight
- Empty trailer repositioning
- Dedicated power only lanes
- Flatbed and specialized trailers (with experience)
What brokers will ask for
Power only brokers usually ask for:
- Trailer interchange or non-owned trailer physical damage coverage
- Auto liability of $1,000,000 and cargo of $100,000
- A signed trailer interchange agreement for some programs
- Air lines, gladhands and a fifth wheel in good condition
- ELD for tracking and hours of service
Pricing

Questions carriers ask
Do I need special insurance for power only?
Usually yes. Most programs require trailer interchange or non-owned trailer coverage because the trailer isn't yours. Check our insurance checklist.
Is power only good for a new MC?
It can be. It removes the cost of a trailer, but some power only programs also have minimum authority age rules.
Do you book loads from power only programs?
Yes, when they fit your lanes and pay well. We compare them with regular broker freight.
