Loads we look for
A typical hotshot is a one-ton pickup pulling a 30–40 ft gooseneck. Your combined weight rating decides what you can legally haul: combinations rated 26,001 lbs or more with a trailer over 10,000 lbs need a Class A CDL, and trucks over 10,000 lbs need a USDOT number for interstate work.
- Oilfield equipment and parts (Permian Basin)
- Construction and farm equipment
- Vehicles and ATVs
- Building materials partials
- Expedited industrial parts
- Machinery for dealers
What brokers will ask for
Hotshot brokers usually ask for:
- Active MC authority and USDOT number
- Auto liability of $750,000 or more (many ask for $1,000,000) and cargo of $100,000
- Deck length and your real payload after truck and trailer weight

- CDL if your combination requires it, and a DOT medical card

Questions carriers ask
How do you know what I can legally haul?
We ask for your truck and trailer ratings and empty weights and check every load against them before booking.
Is there hotshot freight near Midland, Texas?
Yes. The Permian Basin moves a lot of oilfield equipment and parts, and we look for those loads when they fit your lanes.
How is hotshot dispatch priced?
As a percentage of each load's gross, quoted for your truck before you start. Hotshot loads are smaller and often need more calls and planning per dollar than semi freight.
