What we book, by truck type

Dry van

The Amazon, Walgreens, Target, Dollar Tree and HomeGoods operations in Windsor, Bloomfield and Wethersfield keep dry vans busy all year. We look for the reload before you deliver so you're not deadheading out of New England.

Reefer

Dairy, beverage and grocery shippers like HP Hood, Coca-Cola Beverages Northeast, Martin-Brower and Trader Joe's distribution move temperature-controlled freight. We confirm the temperature and the appointment before we book.

Flatbed

Aerospace plants like Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace, and construction across the region, move machinery and materials. We check securement, tarps and the route before we book.

Power only

Distribution centers along I-91 north of Hartford put preloaded trailers on the market. We confirm the trailer, the pickup number and the dock hours before you go.

Box truck

Retail, grocery and parcel distribution across Hartford, Windsor and the suburbs means steady box truck work, including final-mile deliveries. Box trucks can't use the Route 15 parkways, so we route around them.

How we dispatch here

  • Trucks of 26,000 lb or more pay Connecticut's per-mile highway use fee, so we count it when we compare loads that cross the state
  • We keep you off the Wilbur Cross and Merritt parkways (Route 15), where box trucks, tractor-trailers and all trailers are banned
  • Expect the Middletown scale south of Hartford and the Union scale toward Massachusetts; DMV inspectors weighed more than 68,000 vehicles at the two in the first half of 2026
  • Rest areas on I-91 between Middletown and Hartford were more than 75% full in CTDOT's 2019 count, so we line up your 10-hour break before you roll
  • Connecticut limits idling to 3 consecutive minutes while not moving, with some exceptions, so we plan around waits at docks

State rules, permits and taxes are on our Connecticut dispatch page.

Fleetorica is a dispatch service, not a broker or carrier. We book loads under your authority, from Hartford and anywhere in the lower 48, and you approve every load.
